Sandgate Seafoods is situated on Sandgate which is part of the Old Town on the East side of Whitby

It is easily accessible on foot from nearby car parks, and the bus/train station is only a couple of minutes walk away. We are surrounded by a number of unique independent traders which make up the vast majority of retailers on the East -side. There is also a vast number of cafes, restaurants , pubs and fish and chip outlets to hand in a radius of only a few hundred yards.

The west side of town is only a stones throw away and hosts many more retail and food outlets as well as other sea side attractions. a short walk to the west will take you to the West cliff area or a walk to the east will bring you to the Abbey grounds.

If you visit us during summer and peak season we are open 10am until 5.30pm every day with Sundays opening at 11am and out of season through winter we close at the earlier time of 4pm.

Summer time brings obviously more choice and better savings on some products as our supplies are bigger and more consistent, lobster and crab products are heavily on the menu during this time and we have a huge customer base just for lobsters alone. A large choice of ready to eat products are available to munch on while you walk the streets and plenty of variety of fish and smoked products to take home for tea!

If you choose to dine out on the East side, you will find our fish and seafood in a number of cafes, pubs and restaurants. We also can boast that we are the only shop in town that is capable of smoking our own smoked products and also the cooking of shellfish like crab, lobster and langoustines.
